---|---|
Both courses are reading and writing intensive. 英语2 is a better option for students who like to work independently and feel that their high school education prepared them well for college work. |
We know that it's hard to find confidence if you have struggled in the past. 这 course offers instruction that consciously builds community all semester, uses curriculum that affirms students' strengths, and grades in a way that allows for growth over time. |
阅读 |
|
Both courses challenge students to develop curiosity and connection to the reading. |
Feeling a little rusty? 这 course provides additional time and instruction in reading 策略. Besides more time with the instructor, these sections also have embedded support specialists. |
写作 |
|
Both transfer-level courses have the same writing requirements and types of assignments. Both courses help students develop their writing process. |
这 course offers more in-class support, including instructional assistants (tutors). 英语3 instructors provide more guidance through the writing process, including conducting writing workshops during class and frequently allowing students to revise their work before or after it’s graded. |
技术 |
|
Most instructors use Canvas and make readings and assignments available online. 21st century writing requires digital literacy. |
We understand that students often need more confidence using technology. 在课堂上 access to computers, students can practice researching, composing, and collaborating online, alongside a teacher, tutor and classmates to troubleshoot. |
